Die kleine Gudrun besucht Oskar im Zwergenhaus. Dass es hier jetzt Ponies gibt, gefällt ihr.

Neue Heimat / New home

Darsie lebt jetzt im Zwergenhaus. Dort ist viel mehr Platz und ein richtiger Garten.

Darsie lives at the gnomeHome now. There's much more room, and a large garden.

Sie freut sich, dass sie hier auf die Koppel darf.

She's happy she can be on the pasture here.

Auch meine 3 großen Zelluloidpuppen sind umgezogen. Minnie, die Minerva, freundet sich mit Darsie an.

My 3 large celluloid dolls moved there, too. Minnie the Minerva makes friends with Darsie.

Hans, Schildkröt, probiert aus, ob er ein bisschen auf der Wiese reiten kann.

Paul (Hunaeus) ist der Mutigste. Er reitet am nächsten Morgen mit Darsie ins Gelände.

100 Jahre Darsie / 100 years of Darsie

Die Fotos vom reitenden Oskar weckten Wünsche bei den Sashas! Natürlich können sie sich nicht auf das winzige Pony setzen.

Da fiel mir Darsie ein: ein Schaukelpferd, das ich vor gut 35 Jahren auf dem Flohmarkt kaufte.  Der Händler schätzte sie damals auf Bj. 1920. Sie war in traurigem Zustand, fast kein Fell mehr, Ohren, Schweif und ein Auge fehlten. Ich habe sie neu bemalt und bezogen, fand ein passendes Glasauge, Hanf für den Schweif und Leder für neue Ohren.

Obwohl meine Kinder kaum auf ihr geschaukelt haben, hatte sie auch bei uns gelitten. Der Schweif war wieder weg und das Fell hatte Löcher.

Letzte Woche bat ich meinen Mann, sie von den Kufen zu nehmen, reparierte ihren Bezug und gab ihr einen neuen Schweif, diesmal aus echtem Rosshaar. Jetzt ist sie bereit, Sashas oder große KK durch die Landschaft zu tragen - ohne störende Kufen.

 

The photos of Oskar riding woke wishes in the Sasha crew! Of course they can't mount the tiny pony.

So, I remembered Darsie: a rocking horse I bought about 35 years ago at a flea market. The seller estimated her to have been born around 1920. She was in a sorry state: fur almost gone, no more tail, ears missing and only one eye left. I gave her a new coat, repainted the woodwork, found a matching glass eye, hemp for the tail and leather for the ears.

Though my kids didn't ride her much, the years still had left their traces. The tail was missing again and her coat had holes.

Last week I asked my husband to take her off her skids. I stitched up her coat and gave her a new tail, from real horse hair this time. Now she's ready to carry Sashas or large KKs through the environment - without useless skids.

Phil nimmt schon mal Maß, auch wenn der Sattel noch nicht fertig ist.

Phil is already taking measures, though I haven't finished making the saddle.

Oh - sie ist groß! Naja, sie ist ein Pferd, kein Pony.

Aber sie ist lieb. Nimm uns vom Tisch, Mama, dann kann es losgehen!

Lieschen ist ein bisschen besorgt. Ein Glück, dass das Pony so alt und lieb ist. Es latscht einfach weiter.

Lieschen is a bit worried. How good the pony is so old and friendly. It just shuffles along.

Oskar ist glücklich.

Hurra! Ich kann reiten!! Jetzt aber Galopp!!!

Oskar is happy.

Yippee! I can ride! But now let's gallop! 

Projekt vollendet / Project finished

 Betty (die ein neues Kleid anprobieren darf) hat ein interessantes Objekt im Garten entdeckt: der Lehmofen! Jetzt mit Tür!

Betty (who could try on a new dress) has found an interesting item in the garden: the loam oven! Now with a door!

Unser Sohn war für eine Woche im Zwergenhaus und hat sein Projekt fertig gestellt.

Betty ist misstrauisch.

Our son spent a week at the GnomeHome and finished his project.

Betty is distrustful. 

Darin werden aber doch keine Kinder gebraten? Das gehört doch nicht der Hexe?

But this is not meant for cooking children? Is doesn't belong to the witch?

Na - ich gehe lieber nach unten und hole Tomaten für Pizza. Die schmeckt auch der Hexe besser als Kinder!

Well - I'd rather walk down and get some tomatoes for a pizza. That will please the witch more than children!

Keine neuen Sasha-Fotos / No recent Sasha photos

 ..... denn in den letzten Tagen war es hier fürchterlich heiß - und heute regnet es.

Aber Bille und Fritz waren im Zwergenhaus.

But Bille and Fritz visited the GnomeHome.

 

Ein solches Paar heißt meistens Ilsebill und Friedebald. Das erschien mir zu großartig für 35cm Puppen. Bille und Fritz passt viel besser zu ihnen! Sie besuchen hier den Fahrentriesch Pavillon, im Wald oberhalb des Zwergenhauses.

 A pair like this usually is called Ilsebill and Friedebald. To me, that seemed too grand for 35cm dolls. Bille and Fritz suits them better! Here they visit the Fahrentriesch pavilion, in the forest above the GnomeHome.

 

Bille ist in das historische Gebälk geklettert.

Ende gut / All ends well

Mami hat das Dilemma der Zwillinge gelöst.

Mummy solved the twins' dilemma.

Keine Schlafanzüge mehr! Und coole Taschen auf den Shirts!

Ich hab mir sagen lassen die sind in. Marty und Cody sehen jedenfalls glücklich aus.

 I've been told pockets are hot. Marty and Cody certainly look happy.

Davon profitieren auch Notso und Felix.

Was die Zwillinge nur hatten? Die Shirts sind doch ok!

Cool sind zurückhaltende Muster, wie diese maritime auf meinen Shorts. Und damit das nicht langweilig wird: grüne Sneakers!

Stolz wie Oskar / Proud like Oskar

Lieschen hat sich umgezogen, um den kleinen Oskar in den Wald zu begleiten. Man kann ihn doch nicht allein lassen!

Lieschen changed into another outfit to companion little Oskar into the forest.
You can't leave him alone!

Oskar ist ein KK Däumlinchen. Er war ein Pflegefall: seine Füllung war zerfallen. Das kommt bei älteren Däumlinchen öfter vor. Seine letzten Eltern haben ihn stattdessen mit Korkgranulat gefüllt! Das ging gar nicht. Ich habe das durch Acrylwatte ersetzt. Nicht ganz perfekt, aber er fühlt sich wieder fit und kann spazieren gehen.

Oskar is a KK Däumlinchen. He was a nursing case: his stuffing had perished. This happens to vintage Däumlinchen quite often. His former parents filled him with cork chips. That didn't do the trick. I replaced them with acrylic cotton. It's not perfect, but he feels whole again and can go for a walk.

Und klettern! Also, mit etwas Hilfe von seiner großen Schwester.

And for a climb! With a little assistance by his big sis....

Wir sind oben! Wir sehen ganz weit!

Überall wundervolle Landschaft, egal wo man hin schaut.

Cindy und Beppo hatten es sehr eilig, zu den Blaubeersträuchern zu kommen.

Hurra! Wir waren schneller als die Waschbären!

Yippee! We beat the raccoons!

Jetzt ein bisschen herumsitzen und verdauen....
Beppo würde noch ein paar Blaubeeren vertragen.

Ein langes Kruse Wochenende / A long Kruse weekend

Diesmal sind keine Sashas ins Zwergenhaus mitgekommen sondern Cindy und der kleine Oskar. Sie konnten dort Verwandte besuchen.

This time, we didn't bring a Sasha to the gnomeHome, but Cindy and little Oskar, so they could visit relatives.

Betty und Lieschen leben ständig im Zwergenhaus. Zur Feier des Tages hatte ich ihnen Sachen mitgebracht, die von Sasha-Baby ausgeliehen sind. Beide sind 35 cm groß - die Kleider passen.

Lieschen, rechts, ist datiert. Sie ist älter als ich; ihr Fußstempel sagt 1960! Dafür sieht sie sehr fit aus.
Bettys Alter weiß ich nicht genau, aber jedenfalls wurde sie vor 1977 geboren.


Betty and Lieschen live at the gnomeHome permanently. I brought them outfits borrowed from Sasha Baby to celebrate the family reunion. Both measure 35cm - the dresses fit!

Lieschen, on the right is dated. She's older than me - her foot stamp says, 1960! For that age she looks very healthy.
I don't know Betty's age for sure, but she must have been born previous to 1977.

Obwohl die beiden ständig hier leben, haben sie noch nicht viel von der Landschaft gesehen. Ob sie was verpasst haben? Heute sieht alles sehr gelb aus - reife Felder und trockene Wiesen....

Though they live here, they haven't seen much of the countryside yet. Did they miss anything? Today, it all looks very yellow - ripe fields and dry meadows...

Betty: Und vom Fleck kommt man in dem Heu hier auch nicht!
Lieschen: Dürfen wir wieder nach Hause?

Betty: And trying to walk in this hay doesn't get you anywhere!
Lieschen: Can we go back home, please?
