Während Liebknecht ein gut ausgebildetes, erfahrenes Pferd ist, hat Bastille noch nie einen Schlitten gezogen.

While Liebknecht is a well trained experienced horse, Bastille never pulled a sleigh before.

Sie kennt, wie viele Pferde, die Kommandos für Schritt, Trab, Galopp, halt…. aber mit links und rechts fängt sie nichts an.

She knows, like many horses, the words for walk, trot, gallop…. but she doesn‘t know left from right.

Bastille! Nach links! Nach links! Links!!!

Winterwelt / Winter world

Mia und Emerald haben Helene und Bastille mitgebracht – Bastille wird beim Zwergenhaus bleiben, denn dort ist der Stall größer. Heute reiten sie durch den Schnee.

Mia and Emerald have taken Helene and Bastille with them – Bastille will stay at the GnomeHome, where the stables are larger. Today, the girls decided to ride in the snow.

Der Schnee ist ein wenig zusammen geschrumpft. Es ist echt nicht mehr viel davon da! Dafür aber um so mehr verlockende Landschaft.

The snow has shrunken quite a bit. Actually, there is not much of it left! But there‘s still a lot of tempting surroundings.

Oh! Hier sammelt sich das Tauwasser in einem tiefen Graben.

Oh! Here the defrost water has accumulated in a wide ditch.

Ob die Pferde da hindurch gehen werden? Hoffentlich müssen sie nicht schwimmen!

Will the horses walk trough it? I just hope they don‘t have to swim!

Schon geschafft – wer wagt gewinnt.

Schlittenfahrt / Sleigh ride

Die Mädchen haben immer neidisch geschaut, wenn ihre Cousins mit dem Schlitten unterwegs waren. Aber hier gibt es endlich genug Schnee.

The girls always were envious when they saw their cousins on a sleigh tour. But here they have found enough snow at last.

Mami hat sehr schnell 2 Schals gestrickt. Die Mützen sind improvisiert.

Mummy knitted two scarves very swiftly. The hats had to be improvised.

Liebknecht zieht den Schlitten durch die Winterlandschaft. Schön!

Liebknecht pulls the sleigh through a winterly landscape. It‘s beautiful!

Wer kommt denn da von hinten?

Mia! Das ist gefährlich! Fall nicht raus!

Mia! That‘s dangerous! Don‘t topple over!

Jetzt steht auch Emme. Der andere Schlitten holt rasch auf.

Now Emme also is standing. The other sleigh gets closer quickly.

Hans ist viel schneller als Liebknecht. Julchen, Clara und Adelheid sind begeistert.

Dort steht ein großer Schneemann. Den müssen wir uns näher ansehen.

Den haben die Jungs gestern gebaut. Ist der riesig! Winter macht einfach Spaß.

Es regnet mal für einen Moment nicht! Die Zwillinge sind nach draußen geflitzt. Aber was haben sie mitgebracht? Was bedeutet die Mülltonne?

It stopped raining for a moment! The twins darted out into the garden. But what did they bring with them? What is the dumpster good for?

Wir kloppen 2020 in die Tonne! Das hat es verdient.

Ein Jahr das so viel versprach: Beginn der goldenen 20er, olympische Spiele, Fußball EM und und und – und nichts davon gehalten hat!

Du hast in den letzten Tagen Körperbeherrschung geübt. Ein guter Reiter braucht aber auch mentale Stärke.

Over the last days, you practiced body control. But a good rider needs mental strength as well.

Nur wenn du weißt was du willst und was du tust, wird ein Tier dir vertrauen. Du darfst aufs Pferd, wenn das mit den Dackeln klappt.

You have to know what you want and what you‘re doing, so an animal will trust you. You are to mount a horse as soon as this works with the dachshunds.

Da ist noch Luft nach oben!

Es ist ja nicht so dass ich zu wenige hübsche blonde englische Mädchen hätte – aber manche Dinge darf man sich auf Ebay nicht entgehen lassen.

There certainly is no shortage of pretty English blondes in my home – but there are opportunities on Ebay you mustn‘t miss.

Keiner wollte Mia! Deshalb gewann ich sie zu einem sehr reellen Preis. In einer besser organisierten Welt hätte sie auch eine Bewohnerin des Roropo-Hofs werden können, aber dort wohnt jetzt ja schon Clara, meine Schwester sammelt Schaukelpferde, nicht Sashas, und so ist sie meine. Italienisch: Mia!

No one wanted Mia! So I won her at a very reasonable price. In a world better organized, she would have made a proper inhabitant of Roropo farm, but there, Clara already moved in. My sister is a collector of rocking horses, not of Sashas, and so she‘s mine. In Italian: Mia!

Sie posiert mit Lamby, nachdem ich ihr die Haare gemacht hatte. Ein weiteres Problem kann ich erst nächstes Jahr lösen: sie hat viel zu straffe Gummis, mit leichter Delle am Halsrand, und dadurch eine gewisse Nackensteife.

She‘s posing with Lamby after having her hair done. There‘s another issue that will have to wait for next year: much too tight elastics resulting in slight neck caving, so her neck is a little on the stiff side.

Das lässt sich aber kurieren! Und so wohnt bei uns ein weiteres wunderschönes blondes englisches Mädchen.

But there‘s a cure for that! So in our house lives another gorgeous British girl.
