Wandern / Hiking

It is much too hot for a hiking tour! But Mayla doesn't mind.

Sie muss doch die neuen Wanderschuhe ausprobieren! Die passen sogar farblich zum Rucksack.

She had to try out the new hiking boots! They even match the rucksack.

Da kommt man kaum hinterher.

While Mummy is still hesitating, Mayla jauntily hops along the forest path. She is so fast, it's a challenge to follow!

Wo bleibt ihr denn? Seid ihr langsam!

Where are you? You're so slow!

Wie, ihr seid schon müde? Es ist heiß? Wir sollen eine Pause machen?
Wozu?

What, you're already tired? It's hot? We should take a break?
What for?

Ok, ok, mal sehen was in dem Rucksack drin ist...

Ok, ok, I'll look what's inside the rucksack...

Greta

Yesterday, two great deliveries were made: a lovely outfit by Frances Trickett - and a new family member. (I had no self control.)

Greta snapped up the new set immediately - she had to, as the poor child didn't bring any clothes! It suits her. Shoes by Wagner.

The third button nose in our family! The blouse is made of seersucker, perfect for summer, and the shorts are very nicely sewn, with much attention to detail.

Kuno guards the photo shoot. He is serious about it! No one is to enter this patio!

Now I'll look for my new siblings!

Abschied / Time to say goodbye

On Wednesday, we had to drive home.

For a last time, Pippa admires the lovely decorated flower pot my sister was given by her neighbours.

What? I'm meant to pack my suitcase? You can do that much better, Mummy...
Sophia has worn this dress in winter with a matching jumper. It also looks pretty on its own. The wonderful boots are by Wagner Puppenschuhe.

On Tuesday it was cooler, but dry. We went for a short walk with the dogs - there were 6 of them all together!

Wir liefen durch Wald und Wiesen. Wunderschöne Landschaft!

We hiked through a little forest and some fields. Beautiful landscape!

The hamlet where we parked our cars, Königshagen, has an interesting steeple.

Pippa war mehr an dem Spielplatz interessiert.

Pippa was more interested in the play ground.

Will I get water by turning the handle? Is this a well?

No - it does look like one, but it is a barbecue.

Schau Mami! Fast ohne Hände!

Look Mummy! Almost no hands!

Und schnell wieder hoch auf die Rutsche

And up the slide again quickly

Fulda

At last, I've found time for my blog!
We visited my sister again last week, for her birthday on Tuesday. On Pentecost Monday, we drove to Fulda, taking Pippa with us.

Fulda is a very old town. From early middle age, there was a bishop's residence in Fulda. The domes in the background belong to the large cathedral. I wish I could hold the camera straight! Of course, I didn't bring a tripod.

Pippa bewundert den Schlosspark.

Pippa admires the park that belongs to the palace.

Das Schloss / The palace

Perennials in the park - some of those also grow in my garden, but not so many!

We need more of these lilies, they are so pretty - but where should I plant them in our tiny garden??

Die Statue reizt zum Necken

Wilde Tiere / Wild animals

Maybe Mikey is too courageous for his own good?

The lion looks puzzled. He didn't expect such a cheeky little boy.

Komm näher - lockt Mikey.

Come closer - Mikey lures.

Und dann... / And next...

Mami? Darf ich den mit heim nehmen?

Mikey is thrilled. This is much faster than crawling, and you see much more!
Mummy? Can I take him home?

Unterdessen trifft Honey einen riesigen Wolf. Ist das aufregend bei ihrer Tante!
Wolf, warum hast du so große Pfoten?

Meanwhile, Honey meets a giant wolf. It's so exciting at her aunt's!
Wolf, why are your paws so large?

But maybe this is only my sister's malamute dog...

Alarm!

Mikey has parted with his new friend and is exploring his surroundings.

From here, even someone who can only crawl has a nice view.

Aber wer versteckt sich da? / But who is hiding there?

Ein Löwe! O nein!

A lion! Oh no! He won't hope to have a little boy for tea?

But first he'll have to practise creeping up. Mikey has heard a sound.

Was für ein Schreck! Aber krabbelt Mikey jetzt eilig davon?

Such a shock! But does Mikey crawl away now hurriedly?

Nein! Er wehrt sich! Komm nur her, Löwe!
Wie das wohl ausgehen wird?

No! He stands his ground! Just come here, lion!
How will this end?
