Seit Ende April hat es beim Zwergenhaus nicht mehr richtig geregnet.
There was no decent rain at the Gnome Home since the end of April.
Das sieht mehr nach Wüste aus als nach Garten.
This looks more like a desert than like a garden.
Die Solarlampe kann sich jedenfalls nicht beschweren.
The solar lamp gets all it needs and more.
Ob diese Blumen es schaffen werden? Sie lieben Sonne, aber so viel?
Will these flowers survive? They like sun, but so much?
Da kommt man mit dem Gießen gar nicht mehr hinterher.
You'll never be finished watering here.
Und kein Wasser in Sicht, egal wo Emerald sucht.
And no water anywhere, wherever Emerald looks.
Aber die hier sieht noch fit aus! Und sie blüht schön.
Kein Wunder - die haben wir heute früh beim Gärtner geholt, und wir nehmen sie mit, als Geschenk für meine Mutter.
But this one looks healthy! And it's flowering so lovely.
No surprise - we fetched it from the nursery today, and we will take it home, it's a gift for my mum.
My goodness, that is a long time without a good rain. We've had a fair amount of rain here, but it's just been so hot. Are brush fires ever a danger in Germany as they have been in Greece and western US?
AntwortenLöschenUsually, there are no brush fires in Germany, but now we have been alerted since the forests are so dry, and the heather in the Lüneburger Heide did burn some years ago. This could happen again - as if it wasn't bad enough there will bee no heather bloom this year!
LöschenIt's so hot everywhere ! Who is getting all our rain? we need some back! Hopefully the gnome house garden will survive this drought until the rains come.
AntwortenLöschenEmerald found no water anywhere! We had a lovely weekend of rain and now it's like it never happened !
I hope you have a nice time even without the rain ;)
It's been cooler now for some days, and here at home we had some drops, but nothing you can call a decent rain. My sister who visited the GnomeHome last weekend, said there probably was no rain at all.
LöschenAnd the forecast says, more sun for the coming weekend...
It's the same here Ursual, very hot and very dry....our plants need watering a minimum of twice a day, and still they droop. Fortunately we do have a lot of cacti too, so they are thriving in the hot dry weather....
AntwortenLöschenI hope you get the rain you need soon.
xx
I hope so too - though it will be too late for the vegetable garden. We pumped all the water out of our rain cistern to save the trees, some of them are quite young, and some have been looking ill from the start, due to neglect over the last years.
LöschenNow all we can do is wait...
