Zu Pferd / On horseback

Heute ist Tammy mit Ludwig unterwegs.

Today, Tammy is on her way with Ludwig.

Das hat Vorteile: zu Pferd kann man leicht einem Wildschwein davon laufen!

It does have benefits: on horseback you can easily outrun a wild boar!

Und man bekommt in der taufeuchten Wiese keine nassen Füße.

And in the dewy meadows, your feet don‘t get wet.

Die Spinnweben sehen sehr hübsch aus! Wie Perlenschnüre.

The spiderwebs look so pretty! Just like strings of pearls.

Dort vorn wird der Weg extrem steil.

Over there, the path rises very steeply.

Du schaffst es Ludwig! Nur Mut! Was ist? Hast du etwas gesehen?

You can make it Ludwig! Don‘t lose heart! What‘s the matter? Have you seen something?

Drüben steht ein Rehkitz! Es schaut neugierig.

Over there, a fawn stands and watches curiously.

Dann bringt es sich lieber in Sicherheit.

It decides to go for safety.

So etwas sieht man nur zu Pferd!

Things like that you can only see on horseback!

Pudelabenteuer / Poodle adventure

Es ist kühler geworden beim Zwergenhaus, aber es regnet nicht.

It‘s getting cooler at the GnomeHome, but it doesn‘t rain.

Tammy nutzt das für eine ausgedehnte Wanderung mit Earl Grey. Was für eine wunderschöne Landschaft!

Plötzlich bellt der Hund und rennt los.

Suddenly, the dog barks and breaks into a run.

Dann stoppt er. Was hast du gerochen?

Then he stops in his tracks. What did you smell?

Und warum versteckst du dich jetzt hinter mir?

And why are you hiding behind me now?

Oh – ein Wildschwein – da sind wir besser vorsichtig!

Oh – a wild boar – we‘ll rather be careful!

Wir schauen es nicht an und gehen langsam in die andere Richtung. Sag nichts Falsches, Earl Grey!

We don‘t look at it and walk slowly into the opposite direction. Don‘t say anything stupid now, Earl Grey!

Das Wildschwein überlegt – vielleicht schaut es auch ein bisschen erschrocken….

The boar considers – it might look a bit startled, too...

Und so geht es auch lieber in die andere Richtung. Gut gegangen für alle!

And so it also walks into the opposite direction. That ended well for us all!

Zucchini Monster

Gerade sind wir viel auf Achse – und nicht so oft im Zwergenhaus, oder auch am PC, wie wir es gern wären. Selbst das Fotografieren kommt leider zu kurz.

We‘ve been out and about a lot lately – and not as frequently at the GnomeHome as we‘d liked to be, and very often not close to the laptop. Even taking photos comes up short.

Immerhin haben wir aber die Bischofsmütze beim Blühen erwischt. Sonst gibt sie sich Mühe das in unserer Abwesenheit zu tun, aber wir waren sehr unberechenbar!

But we caught the bishop‘s hat cactus (I didn‘t find the exact translation…) blooming. It usually makes sure to do this only in our absence, but we have been quite unpredictable!

Axel hat eine andere Begegnung mit Pflanzen: das passiert wenn eine Zucchini 3 Wochen lang allein gelassen wurde. Sie ist größer als ich!

Axel‘s encounter with plants is different: this is what you get after leaving a zucchini alone for 3 weeks. It‘s taller than me!

Bist du sicher dass sie nicht gefährlich ist? Ich glaube sie hat sich bewegt!
