Passend für Prinzen / Fit for a prince

Von den Pferden im Stall beim Zwergenhaus entspricht Minna am ehesten Charlies Vorstellungen. Sie ist kein Hengst, dafür ist sie sehr brav, und nicht wirklich weiß, dafür ist sie aber ein Rennpferd.

Of the horses from the GnomeHome stables, Minna meets Charlie‘s expectations the closest. She is not a stallion, but very well-behaved, and not exactly white, but a race horse.

Immerhin ist sie schon mal größer als Amadeus! Sie ist halt eher grau-geäpfelt und könnte feuriger sein….

She is certainly taller than Amadeus. Well she‘s rather a dappled grey, and she could be more fiery….

Hm, Charlie, wenn dir feurig wichtig ist: warum versuchst du es nicht mal mit Sarotti?

Well Charlie, if it‘s fiery you consider important, why don‘t you give Sarotti a try?

Prinzen-Vorbild-Rolle / Royal role model

Man hört ja öfters, dass junge Prinzen schwieriger sein können als der durchschnittliche Gregor. Manche Ansprüche überraschen, ja überfordern die Sasha Eltern!

You frequently learn young princes can be more difficult to handle than your average Gregor. Some demands come as a surprise to their Sasha parents, even as overtaxing!

Unser Charlie war immer ein unkompliziertes Kind: froh in der Demokratie seine Uniform los zu sein und sich wie ein ganz normaler Junge benehmen zu können. 

Our Charlie has been an uncomplicated child ever since: happy to get rid of his uniform in democracy and to behave like any common boy.  

 

 

Trotzdem merkt man immer seinen guten Start ins Leben: tadellose Manieren, gepflegte Konversation…

Anyway, you still feel he had a good start into life: impeccable manners, cultured conversation...

 

… und natürlich ein superber Reiter – hier mit unserem Amadeus in der Nähe von Bad Wildungen. Oh! Er hat eine Frage.

Du Mama? Warum habe ich das zierlichste Pferd im ganzen Stall bekommen? Sollte ein Prinz nicht eher einen stattlichen weißen Hengst reiten?

Entwickelt sich da Statusbewusstsein?

Omas Garten / Granny‘s garden

Oma ist nicht da. Mama und Candy sehen nach ihrem Haus.

Granny is absent. Mummy and Candy are looking after her house.

Einen wunderschönen Garten hat sie, und sie legt Wert auf Dekoration.

She has a lovely garden, and she feels decoration is important.

Man kann darin viel entdecken. Wozu ist wohl dieser Korb gut? Er sieht aus wie ein Füllhorn.

There are many things to detect. What‘s this basket for? It looks like a horn of plenty.

Oh nein! Weiter unten wächst Gemüse! Warum wachsen eigentlich nie Bonbons im Garten?

Oh no! Further down, vegetables are growing. Why do you never grow candy in a garden?

Diese Gurke hat eine interessante Form. Sicher ist sie zu schade zum Essen. Wir sollten sie archivieren und stattdessen Pfannkuchen backen.

This cucumber‘s shape is very interesting. Certainly it‘s to good to be eaten. We‘d better file it and bake pancakes instead.

Eindringling / Intruder

 

Mami hat die Trainingsrennbahn gemäht.

Mummy mowed the training turf.

Aus Fifty wird niemals ein Rennpferd. Davy ist aber damit zufrieden, ihn in seinem gemütlichen Trab zu bewegen.

Fifty will never be a racehorse. But Davy is happy exercising him in his usual comfortable trot.

Plötzlich hat Davy das Gefühl, dass er nicht allein ist. War das eine Bewegung beim Gemüsebeet?

Suddenly, Davy gets the feeling he isn‘t alone. Was there movement at the vegetable patch?

Ja! Ein fremder Junge betrachtet sehnsüchtig die Zucchini. Das ist ja merkwürdig!

Yes! An unfamiliar boy is watching the zucchini longingly. Now this is strange!

Hey! Sag bloß nicht du willst unser Gemüse klauen – von mir aus kannst du alles mitnehmen! Aber wer bist du? Wo kommst du her?

Hey! Please don‘t tell me you came to nick our vegetables – you can take them all if you fancy! But, who are you? Where did you com from?

Hmmmm vielleicht war das Tor nicht ganz so fest zu…. also ich bin Oliver, und danke aber ich weiß nicht, ob ich mit rohen Zucchini viel anfange.

Weeeellll maybe the gate didn‘t close real tight….so, I‘m Oliver, and thanks but I‘m not certain what to do with raw zucchini.

Magst du mitkommen? Meine Mam fängt eine Menge mit Zucchini an, und bisweilen kann man sogar das Ergebnis essen.

Would you like to come with me? My mom knows a lot to do with zucchini, and sometimes you can even eat the result!

Och komm einfach mit dann finden wir das raus. Und wir sind so viele, vielleicht merkt sie es gar nicht…
