Jocko!!!

This was meant to be a photo shoot of Ellie's new clothes.

Aber sie wirkt sehr abgelenkt. Was ist los?

But she looks distracted. What happened?

Oh no! Jocko climbed the kitchen cabinet and refuses to come back.
Bazille barking excitedly from the floor is no help.

Jocko, komm! Dann gibts eine Extrabanane.

Jocko, come on! You can have an extra banana!

That does the trick. The way to Jocko's heart is through his stomach.

Mama! Ich brauch eine Banane!

Mummy! I need a banana!

Halbgefrorenes / Semi frozen

The forecast for Sunday had said, temperatures rising. But this didn't reach us, it still was frosty.

As current waters had frozen too, Notso thought he could find a frozen waterfall, where the brook used to ripple over several steps.

But no way! When freezing over, the water must have dammed up. So the ice was more or less plain.

But some must have frozen while in movement? But nothing like that, only common ice.

Notso ist ein bisschen enttäuscht.

Notso is a little disappointed.

Further below, where the incline is steeper: Here is no ice at all!

The water never stood still long enough to freeze! Blimey!

Notso, 80s boy with enhanced eyes. He wore the sweater already, the hat is borrowed from Mortimer, the coat is made from teddy fleece, and the scarf I just cut out of an old fleece jumper. At least that's warm enough!
Don't fall into the water...

Teilen und tauschen / Share and swap

From our staircase, where the kitchen cabinet is stored, one can hear subdued grumbling.

NIE krieg ich was Neues!

No not from the playing dogs - though Bazi certainly finds Bazille can be a nuisance. But it's Jenny we hear.
Someone wore this before me! It's not new! I NEVER get anything new!
But Jenny it suits you - and the Christmas dress you just took off WAS new.
But I couldn't keep it, it will be put away until next Christmas!
Jenny wants to sulk, so let's leave her alone.

Upstairs in the main bedroom we find the lucky girl who got something new - and handed down the outfit she wore before:

Scarlett looks after the grandma of all cyclamens. It's 27 now and just starts to bloom.

She wears a longer sleeveless summer dress under a salmon coloured jumper, and I nearly broke my fingers with that design!

Dass manche Leute ganze Kniestrümpfe in diesem Muster stricken - unglaublich...

There are people out there who knit long men's knee stockings in patterns like those - unbelievable...

Eismami / Ice mum

Jemand hat in meinem Bastelschrank gekruschtelt.

Someone went through my crafting things cabinet.

Tammy? Was hast du denn da entdeckt? Oh, eine ganze Kiste voller Perlen.

Tammy? What did you find? Oh - a box full of beads.

You want me to sew these pink ones to your dress? Tonight???

NEEEEIIIIIN!!!!!

NOOOOO!!!
The cartoon app adds very black teeth to this hazy selfie!

Eisprinzessin / Skating princess

To join the European championships, it's essential to have a beautiful skating dress. But training might help, too.

Pippa got the family skates and came with us to the forest, where she found a frozen pond close to the parking lot.

Eine erste Drehung... / First twirl...

Footwork must be very precise!

Konzentration....  / Getting focussed...

Oh Mist!

Darn! I missed taking a photo of the Rittberger! But its landing was stable.

Kannst du es noch mal versuchen?

Can you try it again?

Ich war wieder zu langsam!

I was too slow again!

Beste Haltungsnoten...

Top marks for stance...

And enough practise. That was quite demanding - but after a few years, who knows?

Auf dem Eis / On the ice

The first pic has nothing to do with dolls, but:

My amaryllis grew a second flower - just in time to arrange itself very nicely with the orchid. I didn't manipulate them - it's grown this way.

*************************

The European figure skating championship will be next week. None of my Sashas qualified for it, since Mummy failed to sew them a proper skating dress! So they'll have to watch the event on TV.

Kompliziert!

Anyway, Harriet and Luise are trying out if the ice in the rain barrel is firm enough to carry them. Lusie desperately wanted the new sweater and dress set, so she gave the green dress (maker unknown) to Harriet, who reluctantly gave up her Christmas dress.
That was complicated!

Girls! That barrel is way too small! And you're not dressed for the occasion! Luise you are wearing sandals!
Never mind - should be enough for some pirouettes?

Spielen im Schnee / Playing in the snow

Also, so viel wie unsere Ecke eben zuwege bringt.

A little snow has fallen from Sunday on. The amounts our parts of the country are usually capable of...

Erik went very enthusiastic and got the skis.

Ich glaube dazu reicht es noch nicht. Mist!

It's not enough for that, I'm afraid. Shoot!

Cody (new sweater!) tried to build a snowman. Let's say, a snow dwarf...

Auch Sophia zeigt ein neues Outfit. Und was macht sie da? Auf ihren Bruder zielen?
Freches Mädchen!

Sophia too shows a new outfit. And what's she doing there? Aiming at her brother?
Naughty girl!
