Unheimliche Begegnung / Close encounter

Frankie hat es nicht so mit Pferden. Stattdessen macht er einen Waldspaziergang mit den Dackeln.

Frankie is not the most horse loving kid. Instead, he goes for a walk through the forest with the dachshunds.

Die beiden folgen prima, seit Felix so oft mit ihnen übt. Frankie denkt, dann braucht er keine Leine.

They both are very good since Felix started training them very frequently. So Frankie thinks he doesn‘t need a leash.

 

Großer Fehler! Die beiden haben etwas gehört oder gerochen – und flitzen los!

Big mistake! They noticed a sound – or a scent – and are darting away!

Da hilft kein Rufen.

Calling them doesn‘t do any good.

Bazille und Bazi verschwinden im Unterholz.

Bazille and Bazi vanish in the undergrowth.

Nichts mehr zu sehen von den frechen Dackeln. Selbst ihr Gebell in der Ferne ist fast nicht mehr zu hören. Aber, Moment, da drüben raschelt doch etwas?

No trace to see of the cheeky dachshunds. Even their barking, far away, is almost too faint to hear. But, wait, wasn‘t this some rustling over there?

Oh! Es raschelt – aber das ist kein Dackel!

Oh! Yes it‘s rustling – but this is not a dachshund!

Frankie hat gehört, Wildschweine würden nicht angreifen, wenn man sich ruhig verhält und nicht direkt hin schaut.

Frankie heard a boar won‘t attack as long as you stay very quiet and don‘t look at it straightly.

Ich schau woanders hin…. ich seh dich nicht…. aber auch das Wildschwein guckt sehr betont woanders hin!

I‘m looking somwhere else… I don‘t see you…. but the boar, too, is pretty pointedly looking somewhere else.

Jetzt hat es wieder Deckung erreicht. Noch ein Grunzen, und es verschwindet ohne sich noch mal umzudrehen. Uff!

Now it reached cover again. Another grunt, and it vanishes without looking back. Phew!

Erst jetzt merkt Frankie, dass das Gebell wieder näher kommt. Da sind Bazi und Bazille – auf der Spur des Wildschweins. Sie schauen ungläubig. Hast du es denn nicht gefangen? Aber wir haben es genau in deine Richtung getrieben!

This is when Frankie realizes the barking returns swiftly. There are Bazi and Bazille – on the boar‘s tracks. They look at Frankie disbelievingly. Didn‘t you catch it? But we drew it right into your direction!

 

Ihr Lümmel! Gut dass ihr wieder da seid und dass nichts passiert ist! Aber jetzt bleibt ihr bei mir.
