Efeukraxler / Ivy climber

Der Efeu hat sich ziemlich breit gemacht. Im Moment bleibt er wie er ist, denn wir haben mit dem jahrelang ungeschnittenen Gras genug zu tun. Wunderbar für kleine Jungs...

The ivy is running wild around the Gnome Home. We leave it there, as we have enough to to with the grass, that has been uncut for years. Wonderful playground for little boys...

Was für dicke Lianen! Bestimmt tragen die mich. Ich werde daran hoch klettern.

So thick vines! They'll carry me for sure. I'll climb them up.

Cody, ich finde das sieht wacklig aus.

Cody, I think this looks unsteady.

Marty du Spielverderber! Ich versuch es zumindest.

Marty you're a killjoy! I'll give it a try.

Außerdem bist du doch schon längst oben!

Besides, you're already up there!

Schon - aber ich hab die Treppe genommen.

Yes - but I used the stairs.

Zu langweilig. Da, geschafft!
Ok, ok...

Too boring! Look, I did it!
Ok, ok...

  1. We have a lot of Virginia Creeper, which is similar to ivy, in our yard. It makes a great ground and fence cover. Unfortunately the Japanese beetles have really been hard on it the past few summers. Before long, Cody will be swinging on the vines like Tarzan!

    1. Cody keeps telling me I mustn't cut the ivy, so probably that's what he's planning!
In our back yard at home, ivy is creeping all over our 35 years old lilac tree. The gardener we had here said it won't kill the lilac - but maybe it would be nice to know a bug that eats ivy!

  2. Jack and the Beanstalk comes to mind! Do you know that if you climb to the top of the ivy, you will probably come across the lair of a giant? Be careful boys, you just won't know if he's going to be friendly or not!
