Das Jackenärmeldrama / The cardi sleeve tragedy

Heute früh bot Juliet an, beim Spülmaschine einräumen zu helfen. ??? Das macht sie doch nicht aus lauter Liebe und Güte?

This morning, Juliet offered to help loading the dishwasher. ??? Surely she won't do that out of love and a good heart?

Sie will doch sicher etwas erreichen?

There must be something she wants?

Na klar: "Mama ich will als erste das neue Kleid anziehen!"

Of course. "Mum I want to be the first trying on the new dress!"

Juliet ist mein "American Girl": die Cora Summer Dress lebte in Indiana, bevor sie bei mir einzog. Naja lebte - sie war in ihre Originalkiste eingesperrt.

"Steht mir das nicht super?"

Wir haben ansonsten aber auch GAR NICHTS anzuziehen. Mama du musst dich mehr anstrengen.

Nein, Juliet ist nicht auf die Nähmaschine geklettert weil sie Angst vor Hunden hätte. Sie versucht den oberen Schrank zu erreichen.

No Juliet didn't climb my Singer out of fear of dogs. She's trying to reach the upper wardrobe.

Geschafft! Aber was Brauchbares ist da auch nicht drin.

Eigentlich hätte Juliet auch diese Strickjacke vorführen sollen, wäre mir nicht die Ärmeltragödie passiert: ich hab den Ärmel falsch herum eingenäht! Für alle Ewigkeit! Mein Versuch die Naht aufzufummeln führte lediglich dazu dass das Gestrickte anfing sich aufzuribbeln.
Sieht so aus als dürfe ich die Jacke noch mal stricken.  Wenigstens ist genug Wolle übrig.

Juliet was meant to model the matching cardi too, but here the sleeve tragedy occured: I accidentally sewed it in wrong side out. Usually my seams are on the lax side, but this one is made for eternity. On fumbling to get the threads out I only started to unravel the knitting.
Looks as if I'll have another go at knitting. At least there's enough yarn left.

"Meine alte Jacke passt auch dazu."

"My old jacket matches the dress too."

Aber mit dem Schal bin ich mir nicht so sicher, Juliet...
Die Käthe-Kruse-Turnschuhe passen nur ohne Socken, und Juliet hat kleine Füße. Mist, das sieht aus als würde Marie Kruse sie erben. Dabei sind sie so hübsch.

But I have my doubts about the scarf, Juliet...
The Käthe Kruse trainers only fit without socks (very tight). Looks as if my Marie Kruse would get them. A shame, for they are so cute on Sasha.
