Liberty!

I forgot to show my other London souvenirs.

Danke DollMum, ich habe wieder was gelernt!

A very interesting Beatrix Potter biography - I knew nothing about this artist before my babies got one of her books for Christmas.  Thank you DollMum, I learnt something new again!
And I was at Liberty's and had to buy one of their wonderful fabric stacks.
I already made something out of the first fabric.

Pamela thinks the outfit misses a little something.

JETZT gefall ich mir...  / NOW I feel pretty...

Doesn’t it look as if the little dress was made for the flower? Or vice versa...

    1. I almost finished the Beatrixx Potter book, and it was a fascinating read. The Liberty fabrics are so pretty I could have bought for two life times - but I was very good, due to limited space in our luggage.

    1. Yes it was fun. It's in a charming old building that also looks great from the outside, and they sell so lovely things I could have spent a fortune there. Good for my account balance we had travelled by plane!

  3. What lovely souvenirs from your trip. I love Liberty, it's such an interesting store and their fabric is sooo nice! I like Pamela's new dress, how pretty and yes, the flower is the perfect finishing touch to her outfit.
I look forward to seeing what else you make with the rest of the fabric.
    Hugs x

    1. I'll probably start on the second fabric today - as I found a very special girl on Ebay UK who now is on her way to Germany, and she'll need a new dress!

  4. When we went to London at the end of 2016 for a special exhibition in the V&A museum, we saw some of Beatrix Potter's original drawings in a lovely little exhibition in one of the many rooms of that enormous museum. Her work has always been appreciated in our family, my mother said she went to school once with a relative of Beatrix Potter (a niece I think). Liberty fabric and bougainvillea flowers - what more could Pamela need!

    1. That museum really is enormous. My poor old mum refused after two hours to walk any further, so we only saw a part of it. Well that's a good reason to come back eventually.
The bougainvillea was a Mother's Day present from my children last year. I'm very pleased how nicely it blooms this year!
How exciting to go to school with Beatrix Potter's niece!

    1. I'd probably spent a whole day there and filled my luggage to the brim with Liberty fabrics - but I was not alone, the other two wanted to move on after some time, so I can still look forward to buy some more in the future.
