Endlich draußen / Open air at last

On Sunday, the sun was shining so brightly, and I was planning something so interesting even Felix could be lured outside.

What's this little house, Mummy? It's too small even for gnomes!
Oh, it's meant for birds?

Wait - I'll look out for a good spot to hang it.

Ich sehe sehr viele geeignete Plätze! Wir brauchen mehr kleine Häuser.

I spy many many suitable spots! We need more little houses.

Well - okay, neighbour's cat won't reach it there. But won't the birds object because it's too shaky?

Farther downhill in the garden, there was another sign of spring: snowdrops!

Felix? Möchtest du nicht lieber wieder ins Haus? Du hast nicht mal eine Jacke an.

Felix? Don't you want to come back into the house? You're not even wearing a jacket!

Just go ahead. I'll sit on the stairs in the sun for a while.

    1. I love snowdrops. In our garden here, we never had many, so it's nice to find a batch of them at the Gnome Home.

  2. What lovely sunshine. I actually am enjoying some at my house as well. Clouds and below freezing temperatures are in the near future, so the sun is much appreciated! Shoots are starting to show themselves, but it will still be at least a couple of weeks before any flowers appear.
    Your bird house is adorable.

    1. I just hope the birds will like it, build a nest and eat some of the less useful insects in summer. We had freezing temperatures last week, so I hope it will stay warmer the next days.

  3. How nice that Felix could get outside and enjoy the lovely Spring weather. What a cute birdhouse. Perhaps Felix can build one for the gnomes too.

    1. He'll have to bring some of his brothers and sisters; together they will manage!

  4. How lovely, a bit of sunshine! No wonder Felix wanted to stay outside for a while and enjoy it. The birdhouse looks very cute too.
We had some sunshine today, it was beautiful to go walking with the dog in the hills and feel the sunshine on my back....but we're expecting more rain again over night until Tuesday, so I'm glad I got out there quickly and made the most of it!

  5. I do hope that that delightful little bird house will soon be occupied, protecting a dear bird family from the outside cold and wind.
