Baby

Baby war meine allererste Sasha. Ich hatte die Puppen in Venus Dodges Buch gesehen und wollte auch eine haben, das Baby war billiger als die "Großen", also ersteigerte ich sie in der Ladenburger Spielzeugauktion, und dabei blieb es jahrelang. Dann kam Milo dazu, und dann viele Schwestern und Brüder, aber kein Baby mehr.

Manchmal fühlt Baby sich schon ein bisschen einsam, vor allem wenn sie mit ihren größeren Geschwistern nicht mitspielen kann.

Baby was my very first Sasha. I had seen the dolls in Venus Dodge's pattern book and wanted to have one, the baby was cheaper than the "older" dolls, so I won one at the Ladenburger Spielzeugauktion, and for several years none other followed. Then I found Milo, and next came many sisters and brothers, but no other baby.

Sometimes Baby feels a little lonely, when she can't join in her older siblings' games.

Susi, du verstehst mich! Du und Kennedy der Teddy.

Susi, you know how I feel, you and Teddy Kennedy.

Aber was ist das für ein Paket auf dem Sofa? Wer spricht darin und was sagt er? Für uns andere ist es nur Baby-Blabla, aber Mausi versteht es: "Ist es sicher?"

"Ja", sagt Mausi.

But what's this box on the sofa? Who's talking inside, and what does he say? For us others it only is baby talk, but Mousey understands: "Is it safe?"

"Yes", Mousey says.

Uff - ist das hoch wenn man ein Baby ist.

Ooops - that's pretty high when you are a baby.

Geh aus dem Weg Mausi - aaahhh!

Get out of the way, Mousey - aaargh!

Geschafft! Aber wir haben noch einen weiten Weg vor uns.

Done it! But there's still a long way to go, ahm, crawl.

Gefährlich... Schau das Monster im Schatten nicht an, Mausi, dann sieht er dich auch nicht.

Danger... Don't look at the monster in the shadow, Mousey, so he can't see you.

Haaaalllooo! Ihr da oben! Hier ist Mikey! Hört ihr mich?

Heeelllooo! You up there! This is Mikey calling! Can you hear me?

Für die anderen war das nur Baby-Blabla, aber Baby wird aufmerksam. Wer ist da?

To the others, this only was baby talk, but Baby is alerted. Who's there?

Mikey wird aufs Regal gehoben - was für eine Freude!

Mikey is lifted onto the shelf - such a happy union!
 

Er und Baby haben sich viel zu erzählen. Leider verstehen wir anderen das Baby-Blabla nicht...
