London 2

The weather was very fine, so we rode a boat  along the Thames and crossed it on the Millennium Bridge.

We were not the only ones who thought this a good idea on that day...

No photo of Ellie posing in front of St Paul's, for it was so windy she was unable to stay on her feet. Here she's searching shelter in the rucksack.

The bus to Tower Hill was stuck in a traffic congestion - but no problem for us, there was enough to see! We then crossed the Thames again on Tower Bridge.

Seen from this side, I'm not so certain if the tall buildings make the view more attractive. Without them in the background, I thought the Tower was more impressing. Well it seems I've reached the age when you start believing everything was better in the past!

Ellie likes the flowers, which are a little more progressed than at home. And some of the plants growing here are edible!

    1. I'm pleased with these photos - I didn't bring my heavy reflex camera, and my small one seldom does what it is supposed to do. But this time, most of the photos were okay.

  3. John, I think you and Steve should definitely visit London if you get the chance! It's a wonderful city with a lot to see and do.....but then you'll have guessed as a Londoner, I'm prejudiced!!!!

    1. We were very glad too, since the forecast had been rather alarming. Good for us, it was wrong...

  5. You certainly saw some of the main and most famous sights on your London visit. How lovely to have good weather too, despite the wind. Ellie looks like she was enjoying it too.

  6. A very sensible girl sheltering from the strong wind in front of that rucksack... as we didn't want her falling over and getting a little nose rub.
Fine, sunny weather is a def. must have for any sight-seeing and the accompanying photography of the buildings, scenes and Sasha Dolls. A smaller, compact and less cumbersome camera especially helps when you have to carry a doll as well.

    1. I had tried to squeeze my better camera into that rucksack, but together with Ellie, there wasn’t enough room for her to travel comfortably.
I had plaanned to place her in front of St Paul's for the photo - but it was clear she would fall. Well that fence is pretty, too...
