Bäume der zukünftigen Weihnacht / Trees of Christmas yet to come

Auf dem Heimweg bestand Pam darauf, dass wir noch mal anhalten.

On our way back, Pam insisted we stop.

Was hatte sie entdeckt? Einen Miniatur-Schwarzwald in Sasha-Größe?

What had she seen? A Sasha sized miniature Black Forest?

No - a whole field of future Christmas trees. It's not the only field full of trees that belongs to this farm - the photo shows less than one tenth. We used to come here when my children were little and cut our own tree. Sadly, the children don't find that interesting any more.

Der gefällt mir! / I like this one!

  1. Now that would be a sight! a field of Sasha sized Christmas Trees with lots of Sasha's and Gregor's all choosing their tree!
How soon children grow up and no longer want to carry on the little traditions

    1. You are right, I should have brought more Sashas!
I hope my children will remember some family traditions when they have families of their own and don't have to be COOL any longer...

  2. Rolf has a fear of getting lost in the woods, but I think he would be fine these woods.

    1. Ronja says she'd love to show Rolf some of our woods, and maybe they even meet robbers?
Ronja: Hallo Rolf, wollen wir zusammen im Wald Räuber suchen?

  3. I would have loved to have been a part of 'choosing and then cutting down' your very own Christmas Tree just like in the story of how the FIRST Christmas Tree originated... but we haven't any facilities around here to do that. More's the pity.
I love Christmas traditions that are passed down and our family has made quite a few over the years that I hope will be continue to be continued.
    A super post!

    1. Thank you!
Yes it was fun to cut down the tree, even though it sometimes meant kneeling on a small plastic bag in the mud. But now the kids feel very grown up and don't want to do this any more. Well I hope some day we will have grandchildren to take there!

  4. OH WOW! You're right, a whole lot of Sasha sized Christmas trees. Perhaps you could persuade the vinyl kids to go with you next Christmas to cut down a tree rather than the real live children!
