Schatzkiste / Treasure chest

Patrick fragt sich, was Scarlett und die anderen auf dem Esstisch getan haben.

Patrick wonders what Scarlett and the others were doing on the dining table.

Oh, alle weg und schon alles aufgeräumt. Bis auf...

Oh, they're all gone, and everything is cleared away. Except for...

Das sieht aus wie eine Schatzkiste.

This looks like a treasure chest.

Hey! Davy! Komm und hilf mir mal! Schau was ich gefunden habe!

Hey! Davy! Come here and give me a hand! Look what I've found!

Ob wir zu zweit den Deckel aufkriegen? Sieht schwer aus.

Can we lift the lid together? It looks heavy.

Das geht ganz schön schwer. Aber er bewegt sich.

That's pretty hard work. But it moves.

Hurra! Wir sind reich! So viele Plätzchen!

Hooray! We're rich! So many cookies!

Das reicht für die ganze Familie.

That's enough for the whole family.

Die Hunde bekommen natürlich auch was! Wurst-Vollkorn-Sternchen...

There is also something for the dogs! Sausage and whole grain stars...

  1. It looks delicious! After lifting that heavy lid, they may need a little snack to recover their strength ;-)

    1. That's right, they both needed something to strengthen them. I offered the nutritious dog cookies, but they declined...

    1. But by buying cookies, you miss all the fun! My son is not made for housework, but once a year he gets busy. So it's good Christmas doesn't happen too often.

    1. They are delicious. Sadly, my talented son plans to move out eventually - so we'll have to find a solution for the time after.
The tin is vintage, many years ago bought by my mother in law, filled with gingerbread. We kept it because it is so large - and so pretty.
