So viel zu tun! / So much to do!

Endlich, am Abreisetag, ging die nächste Pfingstrose auf.

On the day we parted, at last, the next peony opened its blossoms.

Endlich! Nachschub!
Und so eine hübsche Farbe!
Aber ich komm nicht dran.
Oh - ich auch nicht. Aber heute Abend fahren wir sowieso nach Hause.

At last! Supplies!
And such a pretty colour!
But I can't reach it.
Oh - me neither. But we'll drive home tonight anyway.

Ein letztes Mal in der Wiese in der Sonne liegen...

Let's relax in the meadows and enjoy the sun for the last time....

Schade, die Stachelbeeren sind noch nicht reif.

What a pity, the gooseberries are still unripe.

Die Äpfel auch nicht. Aber das werden viele! Hoffentlich kommt kein Hagel.

So are the apples. But there will be many of them! I hope we won't have any hail. 

Die Kartoffeln im Heumulchbeet sind ganz schön gewachsen! Jetzt fang ich an zu träumen, Pippa.

The potatoes in the hay bed have grown quite a lot! Now I start dreaming, Pippa.

Wirklich, Axel? Aber wovon träumt man in einem Kartoffelbeet?
Na Pommes, Chips, Kartoffelsalat...

Der Strauß / The bouquet

Nicht alle Blumen im Strauß hatten das ewige Leben. Umdekorieren war angesagt.

Not all the flowers in the bouquet were meant to live forever. Re-decorating was scheduled.

Mit dem Gras drin sieht er gar nicht so schlecht aus.
Ja, ich hab das in einer Zeitschrift gesehen, und Gras haben wir gerade genug.

It doesn't look too bad with the grass in it.
Yes, I've seen it in a magazine, and we have plenty of grass.

Aber was macht die Pfingstrose da schon wieder?
Ich wars nicht!

Nachschub ist nicht weit - das ist besser!

Dornröschen / Sleeping Beauty

Es scheint, als hätten wir einen Schattenspender für unseren Wintergarten, der in der Sonne schon sehr heiß wird.

It seems someone is casting a little shadow on our conservatory, that gets pretty hot when the sun is shining.

Wonach schaust du da, Pippa?

What are you looking at, Pippa?

Ich glaube nicht, dass du dir Sorgen um das Fliegengitter machen musst, das sieht dicht aus.

You needn't worry about the fly screen. To me it looks fly proof.

Nein, ich schaue nach der Rose, die bis zum Wintergarten hoch wächst. Das ist ganz schön weit über der Terrasse.

No, I'm looking at the rose that has grown up to the conservatory. That's pretty high up from the deck.

Komm halt mal hoch, dann siehst du es auch.

Come up here, so you can see it, too.

Ok. Na gut. Die Rose ist sehr hoch geklettert. Ich dachte, das ist es was Kletterrosen tun.

OK. Right. The rose has climbed very high. I thought this is what climbing roses do.

Aber findest du das denn nicht romantisch? Also ich fühle mich wie Dornröschen.

But don't you agree it's romantic? Well, I feel like Sleeping Beauty.

Dornröschen? War das nicht die, die an ihrem Geburtstag diesen furchtbar langen Mittagsschlaf halten musste? Wie langweilig!

Sleeping beauty? Wasn't it her who had to have that terribly long midday nap on her birthday? How boring!

Dornröschen war eine wunderschöne Prinzessin, und sie wurde von einem forschen Prinzen gerettet. Das ist doch romantisch!

Sleeping Beauty was a beautiful princess, and she was saved by a feisty prince. I say, that's romantic!

Ein Prinz? So wie unser Charlie? Wovor soll Charlie dich denn retten?

A prince? Like our Charlie? What is it Charlie can save you from?

Doch nicht Charlie! Ein richtiger romantischer königlicher Prinz - ach Jungs verstehen das nicht. 

No, not Charlie! A real romantic royal prince - boys don't understand.

Träumen kann man ja. Hey, ich glaub da unten ist zumindest schon mal ein Pferd!

But you can always dream. Hey, I think I can spot a horse down there! That's a beginning.

Auf der Terrasse / On the deck

Die Wildnis holt sich die Terrasse zurück. Weil sie ziemlich groß ist, habe ich mir schon überlegt am Rand ein paar Platten wegzunehmen und Kies hin zu streuen. Mehr Platz für Wildnis!

Wilderness is re-conquering the deck. Since it is rather large, I thought of replacing some of the stone slabs by gravel to make more room for wilderness.

Dieser Mohn hat eine interessante Farbe.

These poppies have an interesting colour.

Mami die Blüte ist fast so groß wie mein Kopf!

Mummy the blossom is almost as large as my head!

Der arme Zwerg ist schon wieder nahezu überwuchert. Das scheint ihn beim Meditieren aber nicht zu stören.

The poor gnome had almost been overgrown again. It doesn't seem to affect his meditation.

Axel bekam von Candy den Auftrag, sofort nach den Pflanzen zu sehen.
Scheinen fit zu sein!

Candy told Axel to look after the plants immediately. They seem healthy!

Aber es sind so viele! Wo sollen wir die alle unterbringen?

But there are so many of them. Where do we plant them all?

Wir haben genug im Garten gearbeitet. Zeit zum Entspannen!

We've done enough garden work. Time to relax!

Urlaub! / Holidays!

Wir waren eine ganze Woche mit beiden anhängenden Wochenenden im Zwergenhaus. Hurra! Das war auch nötig, denn im Garten gibt es allerhand zu tun.

We spent a whole week and both weekends in the Gnome Home. Hooray! That was necessary, there is a lot to do in the garden.

Trotz der Hilfe der Gartenzwerge - überall wächst und wuchert es, und nicht alles hatten wir gesät.

Even with the garden gnomes helping - it's growing and sprouting everywhere, and  not all the plants were sown by us.

Ein Flieder hatte noch Blüten für uns. Und was tut der wilde Wein da? Sieht lustig aus, aber ich glaube er muss raus aus der Dachrinne!

The lilac still had flowers for us. But what is the grape ivy doing there? It looks pretty, but I believe it will have to get out of the gutter!

Pippa und Axel mit dem Muttertags-Strauß für Mami. Der weder Kosten noch Mphen verursachte, der konnte einfach im Garten gepflückt werden. Wie praktisch!
Die große Iris in der Mitte riecht komischerweise wie Kaugummi.

Pippa and Axel and Mummy's Mothers Day bouquet. Which caused no costs and no effort, they could pick it in the garden. How practical!
The large iris in the centre strongly smells like bubble gum. That's strange...

Wochenende / Weekend

Das Zwergenhaus ruft! / The Gnome Home is calling!

Candy schaut nach ob die Pflanzen, die mit sollen, fit aussehen.

Candy controls the plants that are meant to come with us. Do they look healthy?

Ja, alles ok. Die dürfen auf die Reise.

Yes, they seem all right. They are ready for travel.

Und Zazou wünscht allen viel Spaß, die zum SCW dürfen - und den Mamis, die am kommenden Sonntag feiern, einen wunderschönen Muttertag!

And Zazou wishes a lot of fun to all who can attend the SCW - and to the mummies who celebrate this Sunday, a wonderful Mother's Day!

Luise ist glücklich / Luise is happy

Den ganzen Winter über hat Luise gegrollt, denn sie musste einen selbst gestrickten Pullover tragen! Jetzt geht es ihr besser: endlich wieder Designersachen.

Luise was scowling all winter, because she was made to wear a home knitted sweater! Now she feels better: designer clothes at last.

Sie bekam unser einziges (gebraucht gekauftes...) VS Set.

She wears our one and only (second hand...) VS set.

Schau Mama, so muss das getragen werden!

Kuno beeindruckt das Herumgepose nicht.

Auch andere Rotschöpfe bekamen neue Sachen. Scarlet ist sehr zufrieden mit dem Mami-genähten Kleid.

Other red heads were changed, too. Scarlet is happy with her Mummy made dress.

Hätte nicht gedacht dass ihr diese Farben so gut stehen.

I never thought these colours would suit her so well.

Auch Isoldes Kleid ist von Mami.

Isolde's dress is Mummy made, too.

Wozu braucht man Designerkram? Hauptsache es passt!

Who needs designer garments? It's the fitting that counts!

Ein englisches Mädchen ist heute auch dabei, nach all den Götz. Jennys Kleid ist von Alexissofie.

Alles wächst / Everything is growing

Jason besucht das Hochbeet und bekommt einen Schock.

Jason pays a visit to the raised border and is shocked.

So viel Grünzeug! Müssen wir das alles essen?

So much green stuff! Do we have to eat it all up?

Mit dem Spinat habt ihr es echt übertrieben.

You got carried away planting spinach! 

Das ist ja mehr als genug für alle. Und er wächst nach! Das heißt, wochenlang Spinat!

That's more than enough for us all. And it keeps growing! That means weeks and weeks of spinach!

Da warte ich doch lieber, bis die neuen Säulenäpfel Früchte haben.

I'd rather wait for the new little apple trees to bear fruit.

Das könnte eine Weile dauern? Egal. Esst ihr so lange euren Spinat!

This may take a while? Never mind. You can eat your spinach in the meantime!

Ruf der Wildnis / Call of the wild

Es git noch mehr Blumen, um daran zu schnuppern.

There are more flowers to sniff.

Lohnt sich nicht - die duften nicht. Aber wenigstens sind sie in ihrem Beet geblieben!

It's not worth it - the are not scented. But at least they stayed in their flowerbed! 

Während diese hier die Terrasse erobern. Gut dass sie groß genug für uns alle ist.

While these ones conquered the deck. It's good it's large enough for us all.

Derweil sind diese Monsterpflanzen aus dem Gemüsebeet geschossen.
Mami! Die sind größer als ich!

Das hier kennen wir alle: es ist Riesen-Rhabarber. Selbst der Zwerg scheint überwältigt von seiner Größe.

We all know this: it's giant rhubarb. Even the gnome looks overwhelmed by its hugeness.
