Muttertag / Mother's Day

Bei uns wird morgen Muttertag gefeiert. Meine Schweizer Mädchen haben sich in Schale geworfen, um alle Muttis zu grüßen.

We celebrate Mother's Day tomorrow. My Swiss girls dressed up to greet all the Mums out there!

Ich weiß schon dass Natascha und Veronika in Rödental hergestellt wurden und dass das in Bayern liegt. Aber beide lebten in der Schweiz, bevor sie zu mir kamen. Natascha wurde über die Sashapuppenklinik vermittelt, und seither weiß ich dass es sehr viel schneller und billiger geht, eine Puppe aus den USA zu importieren! Veronika habe ich auf Ebay ersteigert. Zum Glück hatte die frühere Besitzerin ein deutsches Bankkonto und hat sie von Deutschland aus versandt.

I realize Natascha and Veronika were made in Rödental, which is situated in Bavaria. But they both lived in Switzerland before they came to us. Natascha was advertised on the Sashapuppenklinik website - now I know it's much quicker and cheaper to purchase and transport a doll from the US than from our neighbour country! Veronika I won at Ebay, and luckily her seller had a German bank account and sent her from a German post office. 

Natascha hat eine um 1920 hergestellte antike Puppe dabei, Veronika einen winzigen Steiff-Bären. Beide Kleider sind aus Recycling-Stoff: Nataschas war ein Kinder-Kittelchen, Veronikas ein Petticoat, den meine Mutter für meine Tochter aus einer alten Tischdecke gemacht hat, als sie noch klein war.

Natascha is playing with an antique little doll from about 1920. Veronika cuddles a tiny Steiff bear. Both dresses are from recycled fabric: Natascha's was a girls' smock, Veronika's a petticoat made by my Mum from a used tablecloth, both garments worn by my daughter when she was little.

Das Hippie-Haarband dient dazu, Nataschas Pony zu zähmen. So einen hartnäckigen Fall von Senkrecht-Pony hab ich noch nie gesehen! Sie hat sehr stramme Gummis und ist daher schlecht zu stellen. Aber sie ist eine ganz Süße, und ich habe sie von ihrer ersten Besitzerin.

The hippie style hair band is to tame Natascha's fringe. She is the worst case of stick-up-fringe I've ever seen! Due to tight stringing she is difficult to pose. But she's so sweet - and I got her from her first owner.

Das Teil im Hintergrund ist unser Grill (kalt natürlich!)

Wenn Veronika Zöpfe trägt, fallen ihre schütteren Haare am Oberkopf kaum mehr auf. In ihr rappelt es - sicher die Originalgummis, sie ist neu aufgezogen. Etwas locker, aber sie lässt sich sehr schön stellen.

When Veronika's hair is in bunches, it doesn't show much how thin it is on top. Something rattles inside her body - probably her first stringing, she's been restrung. A little loose, but she can pose nicely.

Ich weiß gar nicht wo die hübsche Pflanze links her kommt. Ich denke mal morgen werde ich es erfahren!
