Das Treffen / The meeting

Honey und Rick sind angekommen. Natürlich holen Tantchen und die Cousins die beiden ab.

Honey and Rick have arrived. Of course, Auntie and the cousins have come to pick them up.

Weil so schönes Wetter ist, gibt es zuerst einen Ausflug. Eine Menge Kinder und Pferde sind heute unterwegs!

The weather is fine, so first there‘s a nice little tour. There are quite a lot of children and horses on their way today!

Peter kennt den Weg und reitet mit Bianca ganz vorn. Die kleine Betty hat Ostwind mitgebracht, und Honey darf Griselda reiten.

Peter knows where to go, so he is first with Bianca. Little Betty brought Ostwind, and Honey can ride Griselda.

Jason hat Honey und Rick begleitet. Er ist mit Darsie dabei, und Adelheid hat Foxi gesattelt. Sie reitet hinten und passt auf dass niemand verloren geht.

Jason came with Honey and Rick. He takes part with Darsie, and Adelheid saddled Foxi. She rides at the back so she can see if anyone gets lost.

Hinter Adelheid ist nur noch einer: Rick mit Hans. Trödelt er? Will das Pferd mit ihm nicht laufen?

There‘s only one pair behind Adelheid: Rick and Hans. Is he lingering? Does the horse refuse to go with him?

Hm – das sieht jetzt eher aus als würde Rick Hans absichtlich zurückhalten. Warum nur?

Hm – this looks as if Rick was holding Hans back deliberately. But why?

Aha! Jetzt holt er auf. Er wollte wissen wie schnell Hans sein kann.

Aha! Now he‘s catching up. He wanted to find out how fast Hans can be.

Schnell genug! Die beiden kommen rasch näher….

Fast enough! They get closer swiftly...

…. und schon haben sie alle anderen überholt.

…. and by now they passed all the others.

Hurra! Tantchen ich möchte das große Rennen auch mit reiten.

Hmmm – es könnte aber sein dass Hans schon einen Reiter hat!

 

Yippee! Auntie I‘d like to take part in the big race.

Hmmm – but maybe there already is a rider for Hans!
