Keine Sonne am Sonntag / No sun on Sunday

Sonntag war es vorbei mit dem schönen Wetter. Cinnamon beschloss im Hotel zu bleiben - die Jadzia-Jacke ist schön, aber nicht wasserfest!

On Sunday morning, the fine weather was over. Cinnamon decided she wanted to stay in the hotel - the Jadzia jackett is lovely, but it's not waterproof!

Im Eingangsbereich des Restaurants stand ein altes BMW-Motorrad. Cinnamon war begeistert.

There was a vintage BMW motorcycle in the restaurant lobby. Cinnamon was thrilled.

Aber meine Arme sind zu kurz. Mist!

But my arms are too short. Shame!

Dackel stört Regen nicht. Hier posiert Kuno im Römerkastell Briciana in Weißenburg. Nur die Fundamente wurden ausgegraben und Mauern teilweise wieder aufgebaut. Das Tor im Hintergrund ist eine Rekonstruktion. Briciana war ein Reiterkastell. Eine große beeindruckende Anlage auch ohne Gebäude!

The gate in the background is a reconstruction. Briciana was a cavalry fort. A huge impressive site, even lacking the buildings!

Montag war ein Feiertag, und wir besichtigten Eichstätt. Dieser recht moderne Heilige auf der Brücke über die Altmühl gefiel mir besonders gut.

Monday was a holiday, and we visited Eichstätt. I liked this contemporary holy man on a bridge over the Altmühl.

Diesmal war Cinnamon wieder dabei. Wir hatten nämlich vor, einen Fossilien-Steinbruch zu besuchen. Dort kann man selbst nach Fossilien suchen, die in dieser Gegend sehr häufig sind, und sie anschließend kaufen. Gemeinerweise hatte dieser schon zu!

Cinnamon came with us. We planned to visit a fossils quarry. There you can look for fossils, which are quite common in that area, buy them and take them home. But this one was already closed. How mean!

Nur bis 16:00 geöffnet - dabei bleibt es bis 18:00 hell!

Open only until 4 pm - but it doesn't get dark before 6 pm!

Cinnamon hätte den anderen so gern eine Versteinerung mitgebracht.

Cinnamon would have loved to bring along some fossil for the other kids.

Am Dienstag mussten wir schon wieder nach Hause. Das Schild ist alt, inzwischen heißt das Hotel Gut Wildbad, aber es gehört immer noch der Familie Seebauer.

On Tuesday we had to drive home. That sign is vintage, the hotel is named Gut Wildbad now, but it still belongs to the Seebauer family.

In der Auffahrt, im Hintergrund das Restaurant. Das Hotel ist groß! Es hat ein kleines Hallenbad und einen Wellnessbereich.
