Eigenartige Bewohner / Strange inhabitants

Yesterday, Greta learned about the flora. Now she turns towards the population.

Wer bist du denn?    /     Karl - ich bin ein Zwerg.

Now, who are you?       /  Karl - I'm a gnome.

A gnome? But he's almost as tall as me!
Well, but he is wearing a particularly pointy hat.....

Dieser Zwerg sieht nicht so freundlich aus. Auf dem Schild zu seinen Füßen steht Gnomeland Security.
Du kommst hier nicht rein, sagt er.

This gnome doesn't look too friendly. There's a sign at his feet saying Gnomeland Security.
I can't let you in, he says.

Was bewacht er denn Wertvolles? Oh - den Geräteschuppen.

So, which values does he guard? Oh - it's the tools shed.

But this gnome looks very nice. And Mummy is unable to hold the camera straight....

Are these gnome tomatoes? The plants are much smaller than those in the raised bed at the other house.
No, they only get too little water. At the GnomeHome, it didn't rain properly since the beginning of April.

After so many gnomes, a girl needs a break!

  1. That security gnome looks like he means business, Greta best not to cross him, but atleast she has an excuse for not weeding the garden as he's guarding the tools!
The last gnome looks like a happy chap and the first gnome is wearing a very big hat!
I'm not surprised Greta needed a break to recover from all this gnome greetings.

    1. Greta already told me there are no weeds, just flowers in the wrong place... but next time she might bring her own Sasha sized tools!

  2. Those gnomes look like they take their jobs very seriously indeed. We've had very little rain here as well, I hate to think what my water bill will be with all the watering of the vegetable garden I have had to do.

    1. We are limited in watering the garden, since we can travel there only every other week. Good for the bill... but bad for the poor tomatoes. We installed a makeshift watering system using a barrel an a hose with small holes. It helped last year. Unfortunately, the holes in the hose tend to close after some days... and of course, there is only one barrel.

  3. What a cute little dress Greta is wearing, one you made I assume? The gnomes are a motley crew! But at least the place is being looked after when you're not there :)
